Regulatory and legislative issues can impact your self-storage business in many ways.  The Kansas Self-Storage Owner's Association is now offering for sale to all self storage owners* in Kansas the Model Kansas Rental Agreement, a highly effective rental agreement form that addresses the current elements of Kansas's self-storage statutes.  KSSOA's Board of Directors and attorney worked together to create a document that they believe meets the needs of today's self-storage industry in Kansas.

The KSSOA Model Kansas Rental Agreement:

  2. Addresses legal issues encountered by self-storage owners in other states, as well as Kansas.

  3. Creates a uniform, professional and positive image of the self-storage industry to tenants and the general public.

  4. Helps professional self-storage owners/operators to encourage and support good customer service standards.   

How does it work?

The KSSOA Model Kansas Rental Agreement form is for sale and to use by KSSOA members in good standing.  Membership dues must be current. 

Use of the KSSOA Model Kansas Rental Agreement is strictly voluntary.  Any KSSOA member who wishes to take part in the Model Rental Agreement program will pay a one-time fee of $295 per company.  This fee must be paid with a member's first order of forms.  The member must also sign the User Agreement Form at the time of first order.

Members may not alter, copy, distribute or give away copies of the agreement or any portion thereof to any other party.  KSSOA will handle the printing, ordering and distribution of the Model Rental Agreements.  Members may not and should not print their own rental agreements.

Members may purchase paper forms or a CD.
